With the theme AccelerEi8ht the ANIMO, it embodies the desire of the DLSC community to continue to speed up its growth in the years to come, through the collective and collaborative efforts of all.

The day kicked off with a Fun Run, which was participated by various sectors of the DLSC community. Participants ran laps around the One Mission Park early in the morning. The event ended with Datu Mathar finishing first in the IS Students category, Loi Gervacio, IS Faculty finishing first for the female division and Engelbert Talunton, IS Faculty for the male division. Breakfast was served to all participants.

An institutional mass was held later in the morning at the Pergola. Prior to the start of the mass, symbolic offerings were laid on the altar. Included were the school’s 10-Year Manifesto for the Centennial and Beyond and four other items that symbolized the Pillars of Strength.

As part of the school’s commitment to bring education to the poor, three public schools were given the privilege to see the Science on the Move, a traveling science exhibition that is being hosted by DLSC.

Later in the morning, Integrated School students formed a Human Lasallian Star at the quadrangle of the Milagros Del Rosario Building, together with the letters “DLSC” and the number 8.

In his address during the institutional lunch, Dr. Julius Maridable, chancellor of DLSC acknowledged that the members of the community have big aspirations for the school, and he believes that these “can be accomplished through the collective and collaborative effort of all”.

“With a community that is tightly knit through our shared goals and experiences, coupled with the Lasallian Spirit that we share, no endeavor is too hard for us to overcome, and if it is the will of God, the things we aspire for this school will surely come to pass in due time”, said Dr. Maridable.
